Disney World…Has anyone walked from All-Star Sports to Animal Kingdom Lodge?
We're staying at the Sports, and for the first night of our arrival, we made dinner reservations for Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge…Instead of having to interchange buses, we were wondering if it would be do-able just to walk?…If so, how long will it take?…I know the Sports is near the AK Lodge, but as to how far, I can't tell by looking at the map…Reservations are for around 8pm, so obviously the hot sun won't be an issue.
First the Boma isn't that great. I will say my family and I are not big on buffets. There are so many other restaurants that are better. I didn't think that they had too much to choose from at the buffet. None of us would go back to it.
As said above, Disney isn't good for walking around outside of the resorts and parks. There isn't anywhere on the roads safe to walk, even if you are up to a 2 mile walk in 85 degree heat. The sun will still be out at 8pm if you are going anytime soon. The cars are going fast and there are tons of huge Disney buses along those roads. Ask at the front desk how to get to the other resorts. They can get a taxi for you.

im not actually sure about the Animal Kingdom Lodge exactly, but i did walk from All-Star Sports to the Animal Kingdom. I would guess it was about 2 or 2 1/2 miles. Took us about 25-30 minutes. It is definitely walkable if you are up to it, but I would try for the buses if you have little kids with you.

I am almost positive that walking is not an option. We stayed at The Animal Kingdom 2 years ago and the family wanted to go to All- Star Sports and we ended up taking a bus. I don't quite remember anything about it, but I do know that if it was do-able to walk our family sure would have…

you def can NOT walk this it is about 2 miles away no sidewalk. You will be walking and a Disney security van will stop you.
The quickest way is to
Head to Animal Kingdom and a bus from there to AKL.

If you didn't want to deal with a bus - call for a taxi. I'm sure if you Google search "taxi, Orlando" you'll have plenty of returns. I think MEARS is the major provider for taxis as well as all of the other transport around there.
I'm not sure walking is a good option since these are really busy roads around the world and some people just don't watch where they're going. You also can't assume there will be sidewalks where you're walking. Good luck have fun and the zebra domes at Boma are wonderful.

Walking from resort to resort on Disney property is very difficult. There are no sidewalks and it really isn't safe. Also, even when the sun is down, it is still hot. Do you really want to show up for dinner all hot and sweaty from a long walk? I have done a 10K on Disney property and it was already hot at 6am.
I would take a taxi. It will be less than $15 and you will be able to relax.

I would use the bus system, walking would be very dangerous. Why no go to a park first then take the bus to the Lodge, if you do not have park tickets for the first night go to Downtown Disney.
